D1 Alarm problems Scanner??
well, I think the alarm unit was bad too. It would go off all the time when you put the key in the ignition, or open a door and wouldn't reset. Replacing the alarm unit helped that, but it still wouldn't start, even bypassing the immobilizer (2 black/orange wires)
Ignition lock is now replaced. It got stuck in the ff position, I could start the truck and shut it off, but could not remove the key. Ordered a replacement ignition lock and replaced the whole thing which was not a difficult job. New lock works much better and a big improvement. Connectors were tough to disconnect due to age , but it is done. Looks like I lost the key light, key in ignition reminder, and the latch to lock the key if you try to remove it with the trans in gear, but I can live with that. My old 60's and 70's cars never had that and it was never an issue. Now on to the multitude of details such as missing screws (about everywhere) and rear speakers that are destroyed. This creature may be back on the roads yet!!
