Default D1 Trailer wiring

I have read so much about the wiring and how to wire a LR's harness to everything. I bought a converter from Advance and followed directions. I ended up with running lights and nothing else. My D1 have a black plastic 7 pin round plug with 2 separate wires with a factory looking ends on them by passenger side tail light and a clear plastic harness connector with a few more than 7 pins. I am at a loss for what to do, I'm sure this has been gone over many times. Thank you for any direction I can get.

I cut off the factory 7 pin and then just make my connections.

TRUCK to CONVERTER
Black to ground
red/orange and Red/black to Tail. (There are 2 wires for the tail lights)
Green/Red to Left turn
Green/purple to Stop
Green/white to Right turn
Purple/Brown to Battery +

Default Done

I had everything as you say except the two wires for the tail/marker. So I soldered that on in and nothing. I have sold thicker purple wire left a green and. Row. And a red and yellow left. I don't have anything hooked to "battery". I'm not using trailer brakes just a simple 4 flat

What adapter are you using? I had to connect battery for the unit to work.

Hopkins is stating that this converter is for vehicles with led tail lights. That may be some of your problem if your wires are connected the right way.
