Default Disco 1 Seafoam Induction Cleaning

I have searched the forum (and the web) to determine where I should add seafoam for induction cleaning of a 1999 Disco 1 with a 4.0. In spite of my best efforts, I have only found pictures for other models and the vacuum ports don't appear to be the same. Can someone kindly guide me to the spot?

Put it in the tank!!

Clean the IACV manually - I ended up having to assist a friend putting a new head gasket on because he "pulled" Seafoam" into the intake in his fuel injected engine.

Seafoam was great for carborated engines, but I would not recommend it anywhere except the gas tank for our fuel injected, aluminum blocked engines.

for the most part I agree with ground(and pound).....
you are only 12-15 bolts away from removing the entire intake plenum and air "horns" underneath it....and you can do a real cleaning job instead of risking other problems and a host of cel's ......having said that , there are several here who swear by the stuff...jus not my choice.

Gasoline has additives that clean. If your engine needs to be de-carbonized then you have problems you need to fix. Additives are a waist of money.

What those guys said.
If you really think you need to do a induction cleaning buy this and follow the directions.
Amazon.com: 3M 08963 Do-It Yourself Fuel System Tune Up Kit: Automotive

The DII was introduced in the US in '99, thats why you are not finding what you are looking for, do your same search for a '98.

Thanks to all for the tips - I had the impression the procedure was "low risk" before reading your posts to my question.

I used that method on my old Miata YEARS ago. It did work, getting rid of some of the stumbling due to carbon build up. But, I don't know if there was any adverse effects afterwards.....I sold the thing months later...

Ok, here's what I remember from when I did it. I also had no adverse effects when doing it.
Pull off the tube indicated by arrow in pic(risregard the red circle).
Attach a length of tubing to that port, a small funnel also helps. Use an assistant to work the accelerator pedal. Slowly pour the SeaFoam into the port, your assistant will need to give it enough gas to keep the truck from dying. When the bottle's empty reattach the black hose to the port and let truck sit for 30 minutes. Start up the truck and drive it like you stole it around somebody else's neighborhood.
Immediately notice the 50hp gained and be amazed at the 18mpg you'll now be getting. Bwahahahaha!!

Search on Dweb. Grab a six pack and a comfortable chair. There's about 8000 threads on it.

Do it slowly and only use 2/3 of the can. Do not suck it in fast . let it soak, and then drive it on the freeway. I have done this with many vehicles with no adverse effects.
