Disco 1998 gas mileage normal?
Hello!! So im a proud new owner of a land rover disco 1998, Its my first ever truck I bought with my own money. It has a few problems that I will try to get fixed. But two things Ive noticed are: the truck is very... veery accelerated, revs are all over the place and it vibrates alot. Second, Im getting like 2km per L of gas. It went through 25L of gas in like 1 and a half day of normal usage. I know its old, and I shouldnt have bought it without taking it to my mechanic but I saw it and immediatly felt in love. It was 1150 dollars.
Its V8

Welcome. You should be seeing closer to 5k per liter. There's not enough info to determine what the problem could be. Since you seem to have a mechanic at your disposal, I would take it there to have it checked if you're not an experienced mechanic yourself. It could be anything from bad O2 sensors to leaking injectors to even sticking brakes.

if you have any mechanical ability........these vehicles are easy to work on and there's a lot of helpful people on this forum. Search for the service manuals. Parts are cheap but it is advisable to bounce things off the community as there are alot of bunk parts on the market (not just for rovers either). Read the forum stickies, lots of good info in those.
I agree with ahab - without knowing your level of knowledge and assuming its not vast,.....have a mechanic go over it and get a list of issues. You can very likely save yourself a ton of money if you can follow direction and swing a wrench.

2km/l is very bad indeed.
The service manuals are linked in my signature.
A visit with a local mechanic (hopefully one that knows these trucks) is a good idea. An OBD dongle and an app for your phone will help you a great deal. It will allow you to see what inputs the engine control unit (computer) is receiving from the various sensors around the engine. This data can point you in the correct direction to solve the problem.
