Disco I and II parts interchange
My current Rover is a '95 Disco, ARB bumper and lockers front and back, on board air, winch, roof rack, lift, etc... It needs some... a lot of work. I found a '00 Disco for a decent price. Question is can I remove the lockers, bumper, lift, etc from the '95 and put them in/on the '00? I know the engine/tranny/transfer case are different, I just don't know about the front/rear end, frame width, body dimensions. Also are there any reasons I should stay away from the '00 model year? Thanks
The bumper swaps, but does require some small mods to the front wheel arch area I believe. When I was looking for an ARB for my 2002 I asked on here about using a disco 1 bumper and was told by many it would fit, someone on here is has pics of a disco 1 ARB on their D2
The ARB front bumper can be transferred. Sliders can sometimes be transferred with some mods: I think they need to be shortened slightly. Lift springs can be used but will yield about an inch more on front of the d2. Rear spacers may be required to even it up. Shocks will not swap. I transferred my SD rack from the d1 to the d2 but it is about 4-6" short. I later cut and extended the rack to fit properly. Some racks are the same for either.
