Lightbulb Disco one in the Canadian Rockies

300 TDi Oil breather pipe blows to twice the "size." looks like a blotted "condom." Any ideas what might be causing it. On start up tick over is not at 900rpm but gets there when driven 1/2 mile. It is sluggish to pull away. When the water temp reaches operating temp I get over run smoke (big cloud) from exhaust then runs fine all day with out smoke. The air intake with snorkle blows the air filter bung out on occassions. I am currently in Canada at an altiude of about 4000 feet and temperatures going down to at least -20c

Sounds like the breather isn't breathing. Maybe some pluggage?
