Exclamation Discovery 1 - Alarm issue

I recently purchased a 1998 disco 1 and one of the problems i am having with it is the alarm. I didnt get the fob when i bought the car, and the car has two keys(one for ignition, the other works doors). Well the problem is that the alarm is never disabled. The red led on the instrument panel is blinking at all times and it is always on solid when the car is running. I tried several things to reset the alarm(lock/unlock drivers door 3 times... Etc). I have reasons to believe that the car had an aftermarket alarm installed(because it was probably cheaper than a new remote fob from land rover) and then removed. I dont know if they messed with the wiring. I know that a solid red led means that the immobalizer is active but i am able to start and run the car, So the immobalizer was probably bypassed to install a remote start. i was wondering if anyone knows any other ways to reset the alarm. Also should i just take it to the rover dealer? And how much would it cost to get a new fob and program it? Would the fob allow me to finally disable the alarm?
Thanks in advance
Any advice/help is appreciated

The RAVE electrical manual is your friend. Download in my signature. Attached are two pages from it. The driver door lock has a switch that arms/disarms the security system from ROVER. It does this by mometary switch of a ground to a Blue and green wire on pin 3 of connector 2101, which is under the driver left kick panel. Touch a ground wire to this point and you should be able to toggle the alarm off. Of course they may have cut into wiring at another point.

Can you get back to the previous owner with some questions?

I have already asked him about the alarm he said he didnt know much about it since he had somone do it for him. And thanks for the links to rave manual, i just noticed that the kick panel on the driver side is not on correctly, so it might have been messed with.
