Discovery 1 Swivel Ball, and CV joints
Looking for a late 97 or 98 Discovery 1 front swivel ball (s) Both sides, and drivers side CV joint for my 97 Disco. My ***** are the chrome ones and they are badly pitted, drivers side ils got a lot of play in the pins, and the inside of the ball and CV joint is coated with rust. Looking for the whole unit from the axle flange out. Might as well be for both sides. anybody help a fellow Disco out??
I'd prefer to get the Black teflon coated late model swivel ***** but I guess I can't be that picky. I am thinking this will also fix my ABS problem as the sensor is probably getting a bad reading from the rusted up CV joint whee the gear is located.

UPDATE: I found a Discovery 1 in a salvage yard with the front axle still in place roughly 50 miles from home. Had them remove it and put it in my trailer for $200 cash!! I removed the drivers side assembly from the axle flange out and installed it on my Disco. Quite a simple job, kept my brake caliper, and ABS sensor, cleaned the rotor, which was thicker than mine, and that took care of most of my problems. Still waiting for a new shock absorber, and I do want to replace the pass side as well. the replacement unit had the teflon coated Swivel *****, and has not leaked any grease (still dry at seal) I took the time to clean everything up good before installing the replacement parts. I suppose I could have replaced the whole axle, but i wanted to open it up and check the CV joint so at that point, it would have been easier to just change the parts.
Now I have a leftover diff tube and gears that will go to the scrap yard unless someone is interested. I figure this has saved me about 500-600 bucks from buying new parts.
Win- win situation!!
