Can you clean the drains without taking the head liner out/ down?
Afraid not. But if you have issues with the sunroofs, it is best to go ahead and remove the headliner (not the sunroof) and deal with the sunroofs. The longer they leak, the more damage will be done to the headliner.
The drains are large clear plastic tubes routed behind the headliner to the side rails. The sunroof frames also can leak at the corners and need to be sealed with caulking.
