How old is the fuel? Are you getting spark and fuel when turning over? No flashing required, plug and play.

If I plug the old one in it starts right back up, and then nothing with the new one hooked in. I switched them out a few times.

Either you need the alarm box that was paired to the new ECU or it's bad. So with the original it starts and dies, are you getting fuel when trying to restart with original?

Yeah, I'm getting fuel with the old one on. It runs and drives but idles high and is sluggish when driving it. That is the reason I got another one to try out. I tried getting the alarm box off of who I bought the new one off of, but they don't have it. So there's no way to get around the alarm box, this is off road only and I don't need the alarm?

The high idle and craptastic running is probably nothing more than the original ECU needing a register reset and having the IAC's speed adjusted. Any indy shops around you that handle Rovers?

Not close, but about how much does that usually cost and can I just take them the ecu?

I believe it's been around $60. I think it has to be on the vehicle otherwise they couldn't adjust the IAC to the correct idle speed.

No problemo, I'd call the shop and ask them the same questions you asked me. I do my best but I don't know everything...... I just stay at Holiday Inn Expresses.....
