Default Engine has rough idle after running?

After 8 months of painless rover bliss I 'm back to pay homage to my fellow Rover nuts! I have two problems not sure if they are related.

ONE-When starting the engine cold, it sounds like an exhaust leak on the drivers side engine bay then goes away after it warms up.

TWO- After driving around town. Car idles fine at shutdown, but let it sit for 5min than try to start it while it is hot and the engine runs rough at idle than eventually smooths out after a few mins of rough idle.

Here's what I have done.-Cleaned intake, replaced plugs and wires. Coolant level is fine no leaks, Oil lost a little less than a quart over 8months. Any suggestions?

Your driverside exhaust manifold has a crack in it, it happens to all of them, buy a used one, or dont, mines been cracked forever.

Fuel temp sensor is bad, replace it.

Check your fuel pressure for your hot start problem. They get slow to start with less than 35psi.

Is there any way to test the fuel temp sensor? It is a bit pricey to just slap a new one in.

Or are they somewhat standard, and can use a non-OEM one?

(Am having exact same issue -- re-starting when engine is warm can cause low rpm or stall, but then is fine with a bit of gas and once it gets going again.)

Fuel temp sensor spec is:

• NTC type sensor [mean resistance goes down as it heats up]

• Range = 23k-ohm at -30 °C (-22°F) to 290ohm at 80°C (176°F).
Approx. 1.1 k-ohm at 40°C (104°F)

• Located on the fuel rail by cylinders 3 and 5

Yeah, you're right, it's $15 at Land Rover Parts and Accessories from RovahFarm, that is pricey just to try to fix your problem.

OK OK. At roverparts something called "Temperature Sensor Fuel" for a 94-99 disco was listed at $140+

I'll do my homework on the part number. Yes, for $15 I can handle that!
