Default Is this a fair price ?

Hello everyone,

I am considering this D1 and since I am a D2 and newer guy would appreciate your comments on the price for this rig. Thanks in advance!

If you where spending my money, $495 all in. And that amount might be overly kind. I know you can wrench on your rigs, so that can save you some $. But this one will add up fast in parts just to do "catch-up maintenance".

Just curious, what are the plans for a truck @ a $1500 price point? Daily Driver, 100% offroader, or a Target?

I think it's worth what he's asking. x2 on what your plans are.

Great question - I want to teach my kids how to drive a vehicle with a standard transmission and have a base to build a full bore trail rig from.

" I want to teach my kids how to drive a vehicle with a standard transmission..."

Good for you....finally a parent that wants to send their kid to The School of Hard Knocks! That, or any 5-speed D1 would be a hell of a fun rig to learn on.

It probably goes without saying, but look this this over and over and over. I think it's a safe bet that this thing has been neglected. All the usual D1 problems apply. Obviously the engine(head gaskets, etc), trans, swivel *****/pins, and RUST! I know it's in PA, but lift the carpets and you will see/smell the water and rust. Also look hard at the frame.

I still stand by my $495, but let's say it REALLY "checks-out" > $950 - $1K MAX and the seller would be way lucky to get your $.

Just a heads-up, this truck is listed for sale by OWNER on CL. But 3005 Ford Rd., Bristol Pa. 19007 is HURLEY AUTO SALES (dealer) > Hurley Auto Sale Bristol, PA, 19007 - YP.com

Place looks like a junkyard> https://www.google.com/maps/@40.1219...V-yA!2e0?hl=en

If this is a dealer truck and they know that the "real problems" with this truck will kill them at auction, then I guess why we know how come it's on CL. REALLY LOOK THIS THING OVER!

My buddy bought a non-running, falling apart with rust 3" lifted disco on 33s bc it had a stick shift for $500 bucks. It needed a fuel pump and we did brakes/bearings/seals on all 4 corners and he drives it almost every day now, but it needs new tires bc the ones on it are rotted.

Anyway, I still think it's worth the asking price.

I dont like the whining sounds coming from trans part, $500 because it may have been run dry and need a transmission or t case

Definitely pull carpets, mine originally from mainline landrover in pa it has rust issues
