Default Fair price for Certified '04 SE?

I'm new to the LR scene, my wife has always wanted a Discovery and it's time I got one for her. I have my eye on an '04 SE with 32K miles, Certified, which was just traded on an LR3. So it still has 18k miles and 20 months left on the factory warranty (in-service was 7/04!). The Disco is advertised in many places on the internet, and the asking price ranges from $31,999 on the dealer's website, to $25999 "internet special" on Autotrader. I'm just wondering what a fair price would be for this vehicle. I'm thinking somewhere in the $24000 to $25000 range is probably top dollar.

I don't want to pay a premium for the Certified used program, since all I'm really getting is the balance of factory warranty that I'd get anywhere. I do like the low-interest financing, but again, I don't want to pay a premium for the vehicle just to get 3.9% financing, that would end up a wash. Thanks for the help.

I just bought an '04 SE with 45k for $18k. It's not certified, I bought it from a private seller, but $6-7k for certification and 13k more of warranty seems steep to me. I think you can find much better deals from private sellers than from dealers in general.

04's are at a bit of a premium, being the last of the line and having CDL, but I have to say they are asking a little too much for it, even with thlow mileage and balance of the warranty. I think your idea of mid $25,00 or so is about reasonable.
Good luck,
Mike

if you can make a trip to Arizona you will save 10K. The dealerships always charge 10K over what you can buy the Disco 04 for. I bought my form this guy He has a better inventory then the two local dealers. Tell him Bo sent you. You will thank me. Good luck
