Question Fair Price $ ?

Posting for a friend who does not have internet access but is curious about a fair price for a 99 Disco SD, 72,400 miles, 5 new tires, BUT Transmission is DEAD!
No major repairs have been required(until now) but due to an up and coming overseas military assignment, repair is not the #1 option...any and all suggestions are welcome

Thanks!

$500-$1500 depending on the overall condition of the interior, exterior, ect. Since it needs a new tranny, that brings the value way down.

www.kbb.com would be a good start.

Has he priced a new trans?

Whats the condition of the truck otherwise?

Does the motor turn over? Maintenance records?

D1 or DII? either way he'll get a lot more for it parting it out, but probably doesn't have the time if he's going over seas.

I paid $2000 for my 98 D1 SD about 6 months ago with nothing wrong with it besides ABS. Hope that helps

Correct me if i'm wrong, but wasnt the 1999 DI the only disco called SD?
I know there is something funky about the SD model but im not sure if thats right...
My estimate was for DI, but either way it would change much for DII.
