Flasher unit
Hello there Im a newbie with a question...hope someone can help. I have a 97 landrover discovery, recently Ive had a few electrical problems i.e the hazards have stopped working and the indicators, there is also a orange sign near my speedometre stating 'check engine', Ive had three mechanics looking to see what the problem could be but to no avail. Yesterday one of the guys told me it may be my 'flasher unit' and we hunted for it..but couldn't find it..it's not where he thought it should be..just wondered if any of you fine people have any idea where it could be located..and/if..you have had the same or similar problem? My passenger window is also not working and my rear window wiper and water schoosher have also given up
Check engine means you need to use a code scanner to read what codes are turning that light on. You can borrow a scanner from most auto stores and they will help you. They're hoping you buy something to fix the problem they're scanning for, so don't fall into that.
I doubt it has anything to do with your flasher relay, but it's on the bottom left side of the fuse panel under the steering wheel. It has two clips that hold it in.

Thanks Eric, I'll have a chat with George (the mechanic) and let him know. He was convinced it was the flasher relay, another mechanic thought it was another problem and told me to buy a 'wiring harness console immobilisation' but when he took out the dash board there wasn't one there..he said that he had had a 93 discovery and it had one under the heater (the part cost me £20) and Im no further forward.
