Default Fuel Filter '96 Discovery

Where is the fuel filter on this car? I haven't changed it in the last 80-100K miles and I think it's about time.

It is located on the frame above the right rear tire.
It, should be changed every 30,000 miles in the future.
Make sure to us plenty of penetrating fluid on the fittings before trying to remove the filter.

If the fittings are super rusted you can just cut them out and install on of these.

I'd be cautious using that filter. I don't know what the Purolator specs are, but the Wix equivalent is 11 micron filtration whereas the Wix 33481 for the D1 has a 4 micron rating.

You can get replacement metal tubes with fittings for the OE filter at NAPA.

Hmmm, it cross referenced as the same part as the one Atlantic British sells in their kit.

It may be AB didn't really bother to check the specs, doesn't care, feels 11 micron is enough or the Wix doesn't filter as well as the Purolator. The last one would really surprise me if it were the case.
Or maybe the OE filter doesn't filter as well as the Wix.

Yeah IDK. When I replaced the rusted seized filter on my '98 I just walked into Napa and grabbed a generic bar-b-ed filter, never thought about microns.....
It seemed to work fine but I see your point.
