Default Fuel issues again?

haven't been on here in a while, so for those of you missing my witty comebacks, I'm sorry

so, as many of you will know, I was experiencing fuel pump problems. and as the same number of you know, I tried many, many different solutions, with varied results. so, I figured I would start fresh.

Brand new Rovers North Pro-Line fuel pump. and new fuel filter.
Ran great for 16 miles. then is started to break up, missing, seemed like it was running on 6 cylinders, but, only after it warmed up. But, still only 32 psi at the rail.

Went out after a couple of days, and tried to start it, nothing.

So, I then took my coil to work to test it on a coil tester, very weak spark from such a large coil. Ordered a new coil, installed it tonight, she started! then after 10 minutes of idling, she started to break up, missing, just as before. ran quickly to grab my pressure gauge... 18psi.

so, while it was running, I disconnected the fuel pressure regulator and plugged it off... 37psi, but, it still hesitated ad missed.

I discovered that I had no vacuum going to my distributor, (plugged line) corrected that, and still same thing.

running for about 15 minutes, then she died completely. she'll run for as long as I want, provided I "massage" the throttle to where she'll take the throttle... vro, vroo, vrooo, vrooooooommmmm!

so, new pump, new filter, new coil...

What am I missing??

No CEL...

HELP!!!???!!!!????

Sorry man, I really got nothing. Maybe a partial fuel line blockage? Sorry.

I'm thinking it's gotta be the fuel pressure regulator.

Fuel pressure bleeding off while running I would say a bad regulator.
Start it, let it run for 5 min, shut it off and then check the fuel psi the next day, does it still have psi?
No?
Bad regulator.

it's a bad regulator.
ordered.

My hesitation problem, is a bad vacuum advance on the distributator... (extra syllable added for effect)

no movement when vacuum applied, as a matter of fact, I can't apply vacuum, because the diaphragm is shot.

There is a app...err, repair for that.
I forget who had that problem and found the repair for like $50, but do a search, it is in the DI section.

http://www.roversnorth.com/store/p-3...-pressure.aspx

More than I wanted to spend, but, less than everybody else.

http://www.roversnorth.com/store/p-1...-distbutr.aspx

not a bad price, and I know it's right.

you may have to edit this, but, I don't know how other Rover places stay in business with Rovers North out there!

Here is the link Spike was talking about in regards to the diaphragm replacement on the vacuum advance.

Maybe this will redeem me for not knowing what was going on with your other problem lol.
