Default Fuel Prime in morning

I just replaced my pump out with an airtex 3270 about a week ago and am no noticing extended crank times after the vehicle has sat for a while. It appears the system needs to be primed with the key on before it will start. I can hear the fuel pump priming for about 20 seconds. Could this be a bad pump or a bad fuel pressure regulator?

Or maybe a bad fuel filter. The RAVE has a small section on testing fuel pressure, I found it under section 19. With your replacement pump, how is fuel return to the tank handled? I have never seen a Land Rover pump in person, just the empty hole under the rear mat at the salvage yards....

Next time you go to start it after leaving it overngiht, prime the pump (don't start it), then kill IGN, wait a few seconds then prime it again.. Once you hear the pump stop priming start it.

If it fires up like normal you are losing fuel pressure in the line over the course of the night. My guess would be a small fuel leak.

Looks like I found the culprit. The $25 dollar fuel hose from gates ruptured causing a leakdown. Now I have to figure out if I can find any of the plastic flex hose instead of using a rubber hose. The hose must have not been flexible enough and kinked, thus causing the rupture. My tank seal is now broken also. Can those seals be obtained locally at the auto parts store?

I would pull the pump and inspect all the connections, you may have a cracked or loose connection allowing the the gas to bleed back into the tank.
