Don't know for sure with the year difference but looks like your is just the main relay, under the hood. The 98 has 2 parts to the relay, maybe yours will be at the kick stop on the passenger side. You might can try and trace the wires from the inertia switch to the relay, I think it's a purple wire with a black line.

Yeah now that I look at it, it looks the same just different positions.

Would love to back up -- you said the black cigarette box shaped thing was the fuel pump relay, but my identical pic is NOT the fuel pump relay???? Extremely confused. Like, SERIOUSLY.

Ok, IS the same part? Just configured differently in context with other components.

Your inertia switch and mine are similarly located, if that's it in your pic by the reservoir. Mine is about two or three inches closer to the driver side but essentially same.

My fault, looks to be the same just how they designed the layout I guess. Best way to tell I guess, when your feelings up to it. Pull the relay and see that it has 2 separate sections of prongs. I don't know how half of a relay goes bad but, it's one of them things. I got mine used off ebay for 50 bucks.

Yep that's the inertia switch, I unplugged mine and bridged it with the green wire so I don't have to worry with that no more.

hahaha, it just caught the evening light. It's Rioja.

I am loving that fuel filter replacement kit -- I feel like it means I could cut the filter out instead of using the flare. I still can't get over how nobody talks in mms with RRs and LRs. Everything MB was 10, 13 0r 15mm and you always included that. I bet that holder nut is 10.

Put a squirt of loosener on today but did not try, still too wobbly to start trying.
