How hard is it to sever the weatherhead? I am putting off doing it. I have tin snips as well as a handsaw, but it still seems like a real chore. No?

Hey, check it out: On buying a non-Rover part for this... it's KEY to have ummmm fuel pump connectors that have RIDGES. The smooth kind aren't going to love this configuration without some real help.
