Fuel tank breather hose - going to the speed shop!
What's making you change out your filler and breather hose? I need to check out my breather as I'm pretty sure it's got issues, I can't fill it completely or it'll leak, can't fill to quickly now either, 113 today in AZ or it'll stop after 4gals. I know the filler hose has been replaced.
Both hoses have serious cracks and the vent hose leaks when it is full. That needs to change.
Yep, same as mine. Cool, if you can take pics please do, I need to do that next weekend, I can't fill my tank all the way and, the ever present smell of fuel vapor is a bit disconcerting. Thanks.
No problem....will ask one of my daughters to take the pics.
NOT TO MENTION HIGHLY EXPLOSIVE. IT COULD BLOW WITH JUST A SPARK. SPIKE HAD SOME PICS HE POSTED A WHILE BACK OF CRISPY CRITTERS.
HMM, disconcerting? Most disconcerting my lad, downright nasty.

Yah, I was trying to be light hearted but fuel burns, vapors explode. It's 1st on my list, as in asap.
Sorry guys...didnt take any pictures. My family disappeared when I asked them for help. Whenever I work on the cars, it becomes a ghost town around here.
Okay, I had to drop the tank to replace the breather hose. I should have drained the tank first, which I did half way though. The new hoses were TOUGH to put on, due to the reinforcement in the hose. I muscled them on, but they worked. For the breather, just get normal fuel hose, so it can easily be manipulated. it would have been an easy job, if the hoses were not that damn heavy duty.

I have yet to see the breather hose.
Since gasoline vaporizes at an extremely low temp, and has an extremely high volatitlity factor, it is highly explosive. Those vapors are heavy and will collect them BOOM, you got an immediate flash fire with any ignition source.
I shouldn't talk though, my rubber hose on my relocated fuel filter split after a couple of years and I was spraying gas out everywhere as I drove. It happened twice, once on each side of the filter.
