General Maintenance?

haha sorry spike, to be clear; I meant after i blow through the Axel Breather (and i just blow right into the threaded side that comes out of the axel?) not the PCV.
Thanks for the info. Now i know what you're talking about. Hopefully these are the fix, if not then we'll cross our fingers for the White Shepard. But again, it's not a dire situation, it's a pretty small amount. Just want to stay on top of it. Thanks guys

Take the threaded side and take it apart, it is 2 pieces, clean them up, you if you can look through and see daylight its clear.
Then blow through the hose that connects to it, if you can blow through it like a straw then its good.
Put it back together making sure not to loose the washer.

You can crawl underneath and spray it good with PB Blaster focusing on the pivot points.. That may help. The top mechanism on mine was pretty nasty due to previous owners off-roading and getting water everywhere. There is also an interlock switch that has a plunger that freezes up. Mine did. CDL will not engage if switch is bad.

Rolling at a few miles an hour did get me into the CDL, its good to go now. Of course i read that before dannys post about all the hazards of doing what i did. Thank god it worked.
As far as the rest of my maintenance goes, something else that is bugging me is the cruise control. I replaced the vacuum hoses, two or three i think. one from the firewall into a TEE, then one to the diaphragm, then on to the control unit under the jack up front. Still no cruise for me. Whats the next step?
Lastly, do all these trucks have a bit of a whine to them from the back end when doing about 65-70 on the highway? Is that just a product of the drive shafts and full time 4x4? Or should i not be hearing anything? It's not malicious, its not loud and irregular, it's just a gear whine.
