Greasing Swivels

Default Greasing Swivels

Am I doing something wrong, or its just not a whole lot of fluid goes into when your filling it...i might get 4 bumps of grease in it before it shows full...thanks guys...i do not have a drainable swivel housing

Are they empty and your refilling them? How are you telling that they are full? I use 90/140w gear oil and they take about 3/4 qt per side.

Are you're wheels pointed straight ahead when filling? The have to be turned inward to fill better. When straight ahead, the fill hole is almost blocked by the swivel. For drivers side, turn the steering wheel right, pass. side turn left. Grease will go in alot easier then.

I tried straight. I do not have a drain on my swivels.

When you take the fill plug out. Does the swivel has a hole you pump into? Because I can't see one if there is

Nevemind so I just need to have full lock to put grease in there

How about your wheel bearing, have you removed, cleaned and or replaced them, you should both front and rear.

PO replaced them about a month before i got the rover Mechanically this thing has been maintained well...just not on the outside...it was never waxed

Started right up at 0 degree weather

thanks..much appreciate it..it took 20 min to do everything...it took 3/4 quart each side...i put in 85w140
