Has anyone installed this yet? Considering picking it up to see if it helps out with my MPG.

You will see more freedom from problems with the stock module, but mpg improvement won't be remarkable. Would be for Discos with distributors (before GEMS). If fuel mpg is below 10-12 you begin to think about problems with O2 sensors, and if you are going into closed loop fueling (good) vs staying in open loop (mpg dies off).

Mine is a 95 so its pre-gems. I'm starting to think that mileage is dying due to the sludge buildup after 232k miles. Im getting around 13 around town.

Can either of you check your static and vacuum advance timing for me? How about compression numbers? The Lucas system isn't as bad as it's made out to be, it's actually pretty decent as long as you use a Lucas cap and rotor and relocate the amp.

Either of you know the condition of the injectors? Replaced any? PCV system working since that will grunge everything.

Start out with a baseline by the book and then build from there. 13mpg isn't bad for the high miles, 10 mpg just sucks at over 115k. FF if you can snag 91 you'll save a few bucks cuz 93 isn't helping motivate your brick...... you need to drop a OM617.952 in and then write up the how to for us.....

I have a dealer rebuilt OM617T drivetrain in my modded 300SD but I'm not interested in doing a swap. I am getting 10mpg in the city and 15mpg on the highway and I have 119K. MPG doesn't bother me.. My 560SEL gets 9 in the city. There isn't anything I can't or haven't modded in the retro Mercedes game so this is just another mark for me.. If I wanted MPG, I would just drive the 190e.. These trucks are respected hauling and outback toys for me.

Not sure on the timings. I should check that out this weekend, but I doesn't feel like the timing is of at all. I plan on doing a compression test when ever it warms up out here. I haven't replaced any of the injectors yet, but it looks like someone broke off the fuel temperature sensor and its just jb welded onto the rail.
