Everything was working properly before

All of my heat/AC fuses look good
I bought a $70 relay for the blower motor thinking that was the issue
I show power at the relay and that didnt fix the issue.

My fan/blower does not work on any speed
My recirculation and AC buttons do not light up anymore

Not sure what the issue is, but I think it has something to do with relays behind the passenger side kick panel, I was bypassing the factory amplifier wiring in a new head unit and I didnt put the panel back on for whatever reason. And I saw water leaking into that area and I think it may have something to do with those relays but I cant find anything to pinpoint those relays being a culprit.

Any ideas?

 

Disturbed a ground? Break out your copy of the RAVE and go thru the schematics.

 

98 D1 btw, I honestly can't figure it out without having another disco side by side to swap out known working components. I've looked at the stupid RAVE wiring diagrams more than I care to and identified relays by wire color. I honestly just don't know what I'm looking for anymore. If no one else has any ideas I'm going to end over and spend $135 for the stealership to diagnose it. Really didn't even want to post my issue on the forum let alone get screwed by the dealership.

Also, if you keep your problem on one thread, eventually it gets so big that you have dozens of people reading every day to see the progress, and may even get more comments that actually work.

 

Ive seen the pic in the RAVE from behind the kick panel, but theres a difference from a diagram to the real thing, in regards to the other thread. I asked for a pic from behind someones pass. side kick panel not a finger towards the RAVE manual.

I hope you can endear yourself to some of our more electrically inclined participants. I apologize for suggesting that you review the basics which guide all of us. I won't trouble you with any more support. Your demonstrated skills as a car audio installer place you above reproach. Again, I apologize for all my short comings.

Look, you're asking someone to go pull apart part of their truck, take photos and post them, and for what? So that you can give them lip if it doesn't help?

Everyone who offers advice here does so for free. Some people know more, some less. If the advice is not of any help you could just thank them and tell them it didn't help.

My guess is that you're going to need a lot more than a photo to troubleshoot this issue.

 

In the "Discovery Electrical Troubleshooting 1997" manual, page 51, panel 203, The connection to ground E200 may be missing one or more wires. It's the only common point between the Illumination for the climate control panel and the blower control.

If you're talking about the light that goes on when you press the switch, you should also check the the ignition load relay (K127, also page 51, panel 204) is delivering power and F6 in satellite fuse box one is good and has 12V on it. However, if you have power at the blower motor relay, my best guess would be Ground E200.

Check the ground first, since all of the components I've listed get ground there.

 

Maybe the blower motor is bad. Pull it out and test it. It's only 3 screws.

 

That doesn't affect the lights on the switches.
