Default Heated front windscreen connections -

Have a 97 Disco that has the heated windscreen. Has factory connections for it on each side under the cowl.
My question is - do they both need to be connected at the same time or just one depending on the right-handed / left-handed driver configuration?

i think it’s both but can find information to confirm. Had some work done on my truck a few months ago and the windscreen had to be removed - used the heat the other day and noticed it didn’t seem to be working evenly - looked under the hood and see that it’s only connected on the left hand side. Thinking the right just didn’t get plugged back in I removed the cowl enough to feel around for the lead from the windscreen and nothing’s there. Then I started questioning myself if it ever was there in the first place...

Question no more. It should be hooked up on both sides, the service manual shows two connectors (C121/C122) to the screen.

Cheers ihscouts - thanks for the reply. They obviously didn’t pay attention when reinstalling - lead is probably just hanging on the inside instead of out.

That was my thought too RJ5. They reinstalled it happy to get it to seal and in their euphoric moment.......they let you down......

That's a feature I wish I had, not euphoria but a heated windshield. I've had euphoria, she wasn't that good.

Update: Took her back to the shop that screwed up and had them remove the windscreen (after them doubting there was two connections) - sure enough there the plug was. All heating elements working again .
