Heater blows cold

Just make sure the coolant tank is full, if it is and you still have no heat then replace the t-stat, its that simple.

Update. On my way to work the heater was blowing hot!!! Must need to get to running temp to heat up. Tomorrow ill replace the tstat, then move to next issue. Thanks everyone. The tstat sounds pretty straight forward.

Um, yeah, the engine has to be hot to get heat.
If you are not getting any heat except on the highway your t-stat is bad.

It was all city streets. But I will be changing thermostat. The picked up the fail safe 195 degree.

That is a good sign - rock hard hoses show exhaust gas in coolant. Feels wimpy because no coolant in there, if you topped it up, that hose won't have any fluid until stat opens.
