Default Hi guys; intro thread and a quick question.

Recently picked this baby up:

Yup; it's a stick.
It's going to be my winter car instead of my BMW

The Disco is a 96 SD with 125k. Has a few issues but nothing a weekend of tinkering can't fix!

One quick question I do have though; where can I get an install kit for a brush guard? I bought one of Craigslist and now I need to put it on.

Thanks!

As long as you bought a OEM DI brush guard there is no install kit, it bolts right up.
There are 4 bolts that hold on the front bumper, remove them and slide the brush guard in place, re-install the bolts.
It is a 30 min job, but you will need a helper or 2.

Love it. Just joined here myself. Bought my D1 because my 08 M3 is a death trap in the snow. Got tired of getting rides to work. Enjoy.

Two sweet rides...............

The SD with 5 speed is pretty rare, you should enjoy it. And since you already drive a Bring More Wampum, the parts prices won't seem too high to you.

Welcome to the Discovery I Owners Group, at least you didn't get a DII.

Thanks for the welcome!

Oh and awesome about the brush guard install! Thanks!

Went to the junkyard today and they had 4 Discos, 1 D2 and 3 D1. 2 Of the S1s were 5 speeds Both 96s, black with tan interior. One had cloth, the other was a fully loaded SE7. Poor truck. All of the bits I needed were gone though, especially the auto dim mirrors.

welcome to the forums, my suggestion would be to get everything you can from those trucks, if you don't need the parts someone on here might, and although you may not make money, you may get some parts you need in return for a great price! anyways find out about the rave manual, and it is always suggested to new owners to read the sticky bulletins and to do the 60K tune up. The guys on here can suggest some good places for parts (if you need some). but yeah nice rides, and welcome to the forums!

Anybody know the difference between a porcupine and a BMW?

A porcupine has ****** on the outside!

ha ha ha ha just kidding, heard that joke like a week ago... figured this would be a great time for it. Nice truck and car!
