Default Hood Release

Ever since I got this, I have used the back side of a claw hammer to open the hood. The handle inside has one side broken off, and pulls hard. I then have to go up front and pull the hood up hard to get to the second release. i assume there is an adjustment but I don't see it. Also could use a new release cable/handle

Hood stays down when I close it so the latch seems to be OK. I lubricated it with no improvement (WD40 and lithium grease, and penetrant) Any suggestions??

Pretty low on the list to be repaired but I have no idea where to go on this...

Just get a new cable, I think they're less than $20.

A few people have replaced their cables with release handle with one from the D2.
The D2 handle is more solid. I picked up one from Paul Grant, and have yet to install it. Also on my to-do-list.

I bought an Britpart bonnet release cable from lk8 and it failed on the first pull. They were great about it and refunded the cost immediately.

The wire was not crimped sufficiently into the end.

It is not a difficult job but I don't like doing things twice.

For another $10-15 go with genuine.
