hoodliner for engine compartment

I've removed mine and sprayed plastidip where the blackout decal would go.... If it did affect the paint I wouldn't know it below the matte black, and the front and side edges show no difference.

Same here, about 4 years ago. My Disco is white, in Florida, and the paint has not been affected at all from what I can see.

i can buy a dynamat piece on ebay for 60 bucks and i think that's the way to go whether i cut it up or just stick it on the hood

Does anyone have any experience with the Hoodliner Dynamat? (part # 11905)

Being 3/4" thick I wonder if, over time, this stuff "de-laminates" sorta like headliner material.

Have experience with that type of material, not brand specific to dynamat. Say after 10 years yes the reflective outer layer will start to delaminate away from the inner foam sort of layers. Still does its job, but it will be more brittle
