Good day!
A couple of months ago, I had a fan blade come apart and take out the radiator. Local yard had what I needed and although I had a new lifetime NAPA fan clutch on my truck, I left the junkyard clutch and blade together and bolted it up.
I noticed my truck was much quieter and didn’t put it together for a week later. My fan clutch was actually working!!!!! The feeling of accelerating with no fan blade spinning was awesome! My previous D1 was a 96 and had the same fan blade come-a-part and I tried 3 different NAPA/Murray fan clutches to try to lose the constant fan roar, but they all stayed locked up and resigned myself to the roar I knew. I was still working NAPA back then and had access to the parts at cost, but even the techs at Murray had no clue what more to do. I suspect my wrecking yard had an original Rover clutch that works as it should.
And this waited until now to happen… NOW it’s broke in…
