In regards to that brilliant designed hose running from the heater manifold to the 90deg pipe to heater core. Will a 3/4" piece work seeing as its larger at one end???

 

I'll answer my own question. Yes, yes it will. Let the heater manifold end sit in near boiling water to soften it and with a little persuasion was able to get it on...

Yes. And cool idea but aren't the threads different? Kinda like the whole pipe plug in the radiator post... I needed a few other things so I went ahead and ordered the correct hose from AB FOR $5.95 which is a lot for three inches of rubber hose but hey it is a land rover after all...

 

No, threads are the same, I made sure before doing it. I guess because the Rover V8 was originally from the US.
