Default how loud are discovery 1's on the freeway?

sorry if this is a stupid question. I'm about to sell my jeep cherokee which i bought for road trips and a bit off roading but i hate it on the road. I've put about 800 bucks into sound proofing and new tires and its still to loud, too many creeks/whistles/road noise. so just wondering how these are at 65/70mph?

I'm really trying to pick up a 97 disco xd 200 miles away

also theres no dealers with any discoverys for me to test drive either!

thanks!

The XD will be noisy because of the roof rack, obviously aggressive tires make more noise.
My truck was whisper quiet until I added the roof rack.
Now it is noisy but not unbearable.
Louder than a living room but quieter than a Metallica concert.

Keep in mind new the truck was $45,000, how many noisy $45k cars do you know of?

Transfer cases are gear driven and can produce a whine. Drivetrain slack is also not uncommon as it is a 4x4 and an older truck. Both of those things are not uncommon in the jeep world as well .Go test drive it coming from a Jeep I am sure you will be impressed

see https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...ht=sound+level where we discussed and tested noise levels and suggested some improvement areas.
