Still on the hunt and holding out for the right one. Have walked away from a few but the more look the more I like them.

Good advice. You might even consider buying two (again depending on price). One could reasonably argue that two $800 trucks will yield a single truck much better than a $2500 truck depending on your desires (modifications? level of off-roading?)) and ability to do the work.

So still no luck on a Disco but did come across a 92 Range Rover classic at a decent price with just over 100K. Owner claim to have all records. I do realize they are older and less common but what are the pitfalls to that model? I poked around in the Rover section of the forum but traffic seemed on the slower side.

You should probably ask about the RRC's over on Range Rover some specific forums like RangeRovers.net. I know a lot of people who love their RRC and I hear the forums over there are decent resources.

There are a number of parts should be compatible between a D1 and a RRC, but the RRCs had lots of issues with rust...especially the tailgates.

Hi, I realize this thread is 5 years old and wondered if you had found a Discovery? I have a 98 bought in 2015. It came with a bad fuel pump that Rover wanted over 600 for the part. The 4.0 is based (loosely) on 215ci Buick/Olds engine from the 60's. This means you can source a lot of parts from GM. Long story short; an 82usd Delco fuel pump and 15 to replace crystallized tubing and a couple hours wrenching it was fixed. I've managed to scrape both rear quarter but not to metal. One small rust patch 1"x1" on driver side rear upright. I've had no probs with it and it has taken me to/from Utah, Tahoe and other trips with no issues besides 15mpg downhill with tail wind. Just found a well done Suzuki Samurai and if I sell Beastie Bleu the SS is mine. That will be my 4th Samurai. They are gutless but do wheel as well as the beast. If interested give a yell. I'm near San Jose, Bleu has 158k on her. Was very well maintained prior to me and I fix what is needed. Although I'll miss the luxo ride and feel of Rover. You can eekmail to LostValley@email.com. -Marty
I'll get some pics as soon as I fix whatever the **** has shifter stuck in some undetermined gear. Went wheeling around the ranch yesterday, stopped to yank large oak limb hanging in middle of road and walked the last 1/4 mile home in dark. SSDD
I said LEFT dammit!

Flyyyyyyyyy me to the moon....uhhh wot U mean which moon?
