Guys, when I start my '98 disco and it's is Park it idles fine...but if I tap the gas pedal it starts idling high and it stays high even after I take the foot off pedal..is this normal ?
not sure if it was doing it before ..I just replaced spark plug wires

Air idle control like 30 bucks from autozone. Bet it's idling like 1700 to like 2500 range.

 

clean the IAC, and throttle body too...to make sure the throttle plate is actually returning all the way.....use carb cleaner to clean them up, clean the hole that the IAC fits in and be careful not to turn the IAC pintle when you have it out
