Default ignition tumbler

Well got tired of fighting with my key so I went to install a spare tumbler I had

Mine is auto, the replacement is from a. Stick iirc

Mine original is the broken one on left, it has different wiring and looks different at the key end

I installed the one on right and it works fine without the wires hooked up, I know one pair is for the light no idea what all the rest are for???

iirc....the gold colored box on the left one is a solenoid to not allow the key to come out of the ignition when the trans isnt in park......a feature that as we know....usually fails and can be fixed by just unplugging the dam thing.......personal experience

You do recall correctly.

And yes, both wiring diagrams are in the ETM.
