Default Im ADDICTED to these headaches!!!

Well...my 99sd finally died with 180000 Mls. I swore I was finished with owning these love hate trucks.....Well I did it again....Just purchased a 97 SE7 with only 86000 mls.....all is working but of course new and different issues to be had then my 99. So I have been looking and educating myself on some of these issues. But I figured I would mention a couple that I am having that are giving me theout problems.....
1.) while driving.....when I hit certain bumps...my steering wheels shakes....I did already encounter the Death Wobble...and I know the steering dampner has nothing to do with it except mask the real issue...which it did...On my 99 I had to replace the box and the arm connected to my box that goes tks the firewall.....and that made steering solid. I have heard about the brushing...the tie rods and the panrod....but all looks ok. Should Intake it ti an alignment specialist? or can I insect myself....I do about 90% of the work on my own... utter I am still learning......

2.) I am hearing swishing noise from my pass. side. I read about how to possibly fix that...J took off the reservoir cap and also the radiator to burp it of air bubbles.....did hat a few time...no go???? Still there...someone said remove the lines to the heater core and reinstall???

3.) sunroofs leaks...fixing that...exhaust manifold basket pass side...fixing that.....windshield leaving to foot wells....fixing that....

!!!

So....again as always...Great to be back on such a great forum..The best out there...and as always thank you for taking the time to read over and any and all input would be great

1. You will have to consult the "death wobble" thread in the tech section and work your way through it. You can take it to a shop and pay them for their time to do the inspection, or you can team up with a buddy and do it yourself.

2. You need to bleed the cooling system. Pull the bleeder plug, turn on the heat 100% and let it idle until you stop seeing bubbles. It helps if you "tilt" the truck by putting a ramp under the passenger side front wheel, or up on a curb etc.

Not only idle but up to 1500 rpm for some short times to force out all the bubbles you can. If you are going to reverse the heater hoses, reverse flush the heater core with a garden hose while you are at it. If those bubbles keep coming back it is HG time usually.

IMHO a simple mod like a 180F stat ($10) is quick, and you can either buy a stat with a jiggle device or drill a 1/8 inch hole, and place that at the 12:00 position. This allows bubbles to pass by when stat is closed and not build up a steam pocket behind it.

Also a good time for an Ultra Gauge, the D1 uses a more traditional design for heat gauge, but it is far from accurate. Pix of both gauges, and what scanner or Ultra Gauge shows for coolant temp. And of course there is that $50 - $75 chemical test for exhaust gas in coolant (changes color). Does maybe 15 tests.
