Default Largest tires with least lift?

Can someone point me to a thread discussing this if there is one?

i want to fit the largest tires on my disco I can without increasing lift and center of gravity. Currently it’s got 29.5” BFG K02s and new heavy duty springs and shocks (the fresh springs gave me back my 2 3/4” clearance). I’ll cut the fenders back as far as I need but what size tire works before it rubs on chassis/suspension? 31”? 32”? 33”?

thanks!

Depends on what you're doing w it. If you're staying on pavement and doing it for looks then you could probably squeeze a 32/33 in there w some trimming. Depending on how wide you go. The rear quarters will need the most.

These trucks do amazing off road w the smaller tires and a 2" lift makes it sit perfectly. Your choice of course

Was looking the same topic. Im looking to add a 2" lift and 32/33 maybe 10.50 wide. Not sure on the metrics for that 285s maybe? Usage would be mainly pavement, it is a driver car for us, but also want to be good in the mud, snow and simple trails (thinking fishing, not rubicon)

I would love a set of the 235/85/16 tires. I used to run that size on my older 3/4 ton 4x4's . Narrower profile but they worked real well.

Currently have the 265-75-16 on mine. It has wheel spacers as well.

245/70R16 would work well with a RRC/D1 right off the showroom floor, but if your springs have sagged it'll still rub. I run 235/85R16 on my lifted 3inch 97 D1 and 245/75R16 on my 2inch lifted 95 D1. Only rubbing is at full lock on stock wheels.

I run 245/75/R16 on my bare bones stock '97 D1, no rubbing at all.

I ran 285/75s and 305/70s on mine with 2" RTE springs. I cut the fender back to radius line of it and ran 30mm spacers on it. Daily driver, rock hopper and ice racing rig. I loved both of those setups.

305/70 same lift before fender trim
