I learned the hard way (with a flat) that if you’ve got big tires, this bottle jack won’t help you lift much.

I put new fluid in my jack this weekend, it pumps up fine at the start but as soon as the second stage starts lifting, it freezes. Handle pressure is rock solid, can't budge it. I should mention that it had almost no fluid in it before, and it didn't go anywhere when I pumped it. I can drop it back down without any trouble, but as soon as it gets to that point, it just won't lift any farther. I tried tapping the whole thing with a hammer to loosen it up, but got nothing. Anyone have any ideas? I really don't want to fork out the big bucks for a floor jack, especially because most standard floor jacks won't even lift these trucks...

After looking high and low all this time I think I will bite the bullet and buy a new 4 to 6 ton bottle jack for less than $20.00
