I agree that it is probably the weather stripping in the doors. 20 year old vehicle it’s foing to happen. When i wash mine, i dont spray water into the door seals because i havent replaced my stripping yet. Some have had good results with the steipping from D2’s. I believe there was a thread here about using a foam stripping from like Home Depot, etc. Comes with peel off tape and sticks right over the original stripping to create a tight seal? Maybe someone can locate the thread. Im typing this at redlights.

Not to hijack this thread, but does anyone have any suggestions for swapping out all of the weatherstripping? I know that the Alpine windows are easiest with the LR specific part but for doors and the sunroof(s) will most generic weatherstripping products work well? anyone with first hand?

2 more cents.. the weather stripping at the back door outlast the alignment in my opinion.. if the weather stripping looks intact, then the door has moved on the hinges which is very common. Many threads tell how to adjust the back door using a socket wrench as leverage to adjust it.

boneyard replacements if you can find good ones but roverparts for the drivers door cause you will rarely find a good one in a yard. The new one if you buy it will be a little different than the originals, the new ones have a black inside trim instead of tan. If you are lucky and have a yard nearby with a dicso, grab all you can cause they are getting rare. I have had row52 notify me each time a disco 1 hits a yard anywhere in the US for over a year and after getting 2 or three a month early on.. I am now only getting 1 every 30 to 45 days.

I have been salvaging a lot from second hand places. If the seals are bad i will probably invest in new ones. I am going to try to pull the headliner this weekend.

Once that is done I hope i can get a clear idea of what i need to fix.

Thanks for all the assistance.

After removing the headliner I got to see what was leaking. Both of the sunroofs were leaking heavily. I completely removed both of them.

I will be going to a pick/pay to get two used ones.

somewhere in the threads there is discussion of building a 'dam' in the sunroof tray as it was a failed design from the start and the water just poors into the motor IIRC
I resealed mine and re-aligned the glass. and they still leak. have yet to 'build the dam' and its been yrs now since the headliner has been back in b/c of this very issue.

Just seal them with some NASA grade glue and be done with the awful sunroofs. If you need them sealed and dont care about the looks, Flex Tape is essentially tape with concrete mixed in. Not really, but you can cut the tape to fit around the sunroof and it will not let any water or moisture in. If you have a black or dark navy color you really cant even see it.

Could I glue the it with liquid nail?

I can glue the sunroof into the housing and then the housing into the roof
