If you want the look and function, take the stock brush guard to a local fabricator and have him make one out of 1/8" or 3/16" tube, with 3/16" or 1/4" mounts. Tell him need it strong enough to take a good whack, so brace it accordingly. Will cost less than an off-road bumper, probably less than a "new" stock brush guard too.

If a senior citizen was parked in front of you and due to their advanced age and run down condition, they had a senior moment and accidentally bumped your brush guard at say a sudden lurch in reverse and comes into contact with the brush guard, or yopu slightly misjudge and nudge something with it, what do think it is going to do? Protect the vehicle from damage or add to the magnitude and the associated repair cost.

OK so before I attempt to rattle your cage.... I do appreciate your input and value your opinion on possible extra damage caused by the brush guard...

BUT as far as easy rider goes.....you crossed the line there buster........

You certainly did, and then the thread got sidetracked and a new guy took offense........

He totally missed everyone's point regarding the negative factors of the LR Brush Guard and thought he was being insulted.

Little did he realize if me or any others on here where trying to insult him it would not be something so minor as to say that his choice was bumpers was ignorant. It would be much more cleary stated. He has yet to see an insult from me or any of the other fine members of this distinguished group of extraordinary gentleman and LR Owners.

We were just sharing experiences. One day he will look back upon that and realize the truth......... Instead of calling them ramblings...........

Easy Rider was a story about two friends exploring the country on choppers during that turbulent time of the late 60's and going on a trip without luggage...............
