I've just bought a salvage Discovery 1 SD to repair another crash damaged one. I need to remove the cab to replace a bent radius arm on the chassis. My local authorities want me to supply the factory procedures for the cab removal and chassis repairs, including chassis welding specifications and sections replacement procedures... Have those manuals ever been available in the LR dealerships? I can't seem to find an official procedure neither for frame removal or chassis structural repair and weld...???

there is a body repair manual in RAVE (the official workshop manuals). All that can be found in the google drive link in my sig. Download it and use it as you like.

 

Thanks for your answer WaltNYC, I've surfed through your manuals and had fun looking at the accessory fitting manual with the weird looking 90s aero body kits and spoiler, and I've read the Wabco abs manual for the first time, but I didn't find the procedure I'm looking for in any of the manuals. The body repair manual has a diagram with all the measurements to check if a frame is square, but other than that doesn't address frame repairs or replacement at all. There has to be an existing document about frame replacement at least, as some heavily rotten frames were replaced at the dealer under warranty. Maybe it was more like a technical service bulletin. I'll call my local dealer after the holidays and ask the service department if they find something and can give it to me; they will probably never use it again anyways...

 

I wouldn’t be surprised if there wasn’t a published procedure for R&R of the chassis.
