Manual Locking Hubs
I read something about swivel *****/hubs getting starved for oil from the differentials unless you opened them up every 200 miles or so.
But, that being said, how much better is the gas mileage? Curious minds want to know... ;-)

I figure if you are getting 14mpg, having manual hubs installed, left open and the center diff locked would increase your milage by a max of 1mpg. You have to realize that you are not really stopping anything from turning. The front hubs are already turning, as are the axles and frnt shaft. When you un,lock the hubs and lock the CDL, you are forcing the front and rear driveshafts to turn continually, as well as both rear axle shafts and both front axle shafts. You are just disconecting the power supply to one of the front wheels by unlocking the hub, but still have most of the friction and wear from the moving parts. In fact, I think you would have additional wear because of the CDL locked continually. I think manual hubs would only be a benifit if you towed your LR behind you with all 4 tires on the ground. But then, you could just put the t-case in neutral and have the same effect....someone correct me if I am off or missing the point.(or completely wrong)
