Default Might get a 99 Disco I , questions....

Hey guys ,

First post and if all goes well the first of many more.
I am moving to Colorado from Houston TX this August and though it would be nice to have a 4x4 suv to cope with the "fun" winters and any offroad adventures I'm sure I will get myself into.
Because the cost of moving is quite high I wasn't looking into buying any SUV right off the bat but a gentleman has offered me to trade his 99 Disco I in trade for one of my toys a 85 BMW 635 CSi.
My BMW is as reliable and has good as they get so I do not want to trade it for something that's going to brake down every two weeks and it seems that Disco's have a fairly bad rep when it comes to reliability.
I've always loved how these trucks look and their legendary 4x4 ability but before I pull the trigger I would like some input from the experts.

I'm going to see this truck this weekend so I don't have many details but for now this is what I know....

145K miles
Supposably it's been a reliable daily driver since 2010 when the guy bought it.
The ABS light is on and he the ABS had not worked since he got the truck but nothing apart from that is being effected by it.
Cruise control works intermittently.
Apart from that , the truck look good from the pictures he's sent me and he claims it's ready to go.
The guys seem legit but when I go look at the truck in person this weekend I would like to know what are some of the main things I should look for......
I am moving in August so buying something that needs attention right away is not an option. I know my way around a wrench and I will do all of my own repairs when needed so future maintenance/work does not scare me. Any hints or suggestions are very appreciated.

Also take a code reading scanner, so you can monitor the coolant temp in digital fashion, the dash gauge won't move off center until over heating. May show some other codes as well.
