Got a 1998 discovery series 1 300tdi was driving on the freeway and last thing I saw was egts at 840 degrees and started hearing a gun shot or popping from exhaust then lots of white smoke, got a tow home the car starts but has lots of white sometimes black smoke coolant level hasnt lowered or bubbled no oil leak around head gasket looking from engine bay and feeling backside of engine head. Did my turbo blow up? or is it a internal problem with the head or engine? going to try a land rover specialist mechanic this week but just curious to what others reckon. also engine wanst overheating only the turbo had high egts, the egt gauge is post turbo also. thanks everyone
