Default New MAF

So I just replaced the MAF including the plastic body section it's attached to (all in one piece) and deleted the code (P1178 I think it was) and a coouple of days go by and the same code is back. Any suggestions as to what to look at next?
Thanks
Alan

I get that code every month or two. I've searched and searched for a vacuum leak and never found one. I think it basically means the ECU is being told that the fuel adjustment is at the max amount for the air that's being measured at the MAF and the mixture is still a little lean at the O2 sensors. The truck runs fine and the gas mileage is not horrible so I haven't resorted to a smoke test yet, but I guess that's in the cards.
