Default New Member 95 Disco1 V8 Issues

I purchased a 1995 Disco from a buddy that has been sitting in a field for 10 years! It was put to green pastures due to a timing chain slip. He purchased the kit but never got to it. I have had it sitting for 2 years and finally getting to it. It has the 2 inch lift and ABS front and rear bumpers. I was thinking of making a river runner out of it but I have so many other projects and not a lot of cash. So I'm debating on selling it.

Well as you can guess the rats got to the wiring... but as far as I can tell it was just under the hood and some wires under the trans. I have spliced the wires under the hood and just noticed the ones above the trans, I'm having issues of not getting it to crank and getting it shift out of park to move it. We were able to get it out of park to trailer it to my place. I guessing it is due to connecting a battery and setting the security functions. I disconnected the linkage to the trans to move it.

I have finally got to replacing the timing chain. Now I'm trying to figure out where the two wires from the distributer go. They had been chewed and can't figure it out from all the diagrams on here, the net and manuals. They are a red and blue and there are three wire close to where the two end. I'm thinking they got to maybe a ignition mod or something. The wires are blue/white, red/black and yellow black.

So the questions I have are: How much does is the price range for this unit if sold? What could be the issue with the shifter? What the wires to the dist go (I attached pics)?

Thanks ahead of time for any help!

Do you think those wires are original? I don’t know the D1, or the 14 cux ignition, but my first thought is that they aren’t Land Rover wires.

My '94 cost me $1100 about 6 years ago, and I drove it 15 miles home. My '96 cost $800 about ten years ago, and it died five times on the 5 block drive home.

Non-runners price will depend on how spotless the body is, and how much it is modified. Probably not very spotless if it's been sitting in a field and lifted, so guess $1000.

Wires from the distributor end up first at an amplifier, then to the coil and ecu. There are some diagrams in the ETM manual. Depends if the dizzy has been upgraded too.

A agree with ball park figure of $1000 for an intact non-running Disco.
