New Oil Leak
#11
So your valve cover bolts are tight?
I agree with the above. Belts and hoses with a coolant swap. Also check all of your pulleys. I was having no signs driving at all, but go through my engine monthly. Took the serpentine belt off and the water pump was about to loose the shaft. Bearing was toast and I couldn't tell until I checked by hand.

Same here. Did my check up before I left for my fishing trip last July and noticed the bearing was loose on the water pump. I ordered a new pump but the shaft broke off the next day.

Thanks to all for your helpful input, that is the kind of info I was hoping for.
I replaced the serp belt a few months ago and was already figuring on getting a hose kit from AB unless I find a better deal of all of them since I am unsure of them ever being replaced.
Also time to pick up an oil filter and change oil as well. I probably will go ahead and grab the fan clutch that Spike mentioned, the $50 one from AutoZone. So I guess I'll see what all they can provide.
I have to get a socket to tighten the valve covers with as well. Isn't that a 10 mm 12 point 1/4 drive deep socket that is recommended? Got to order one of those, can't find one in stock anywhere, NAPA said they could get one in a day or so.

Oil leak ? What oil leak ?
I think a 5/16 12 point socket will also work. I just had a leak from my valve covers. They seem to loosen up by themselves. I'm trying some Locktite on them this time. I feel like getting some of those old hot rod long wing nut tighteners for the valve covers so I could tighten them up every couple of days - no room though. ;^)
