My friend and training client owns a local junkyard here and just got in a nice 2003 Black Disco II with a blown head gasket. First I thought Ill just rebuild the engine. Then I read lot of bad stuff about Disco II Bosch problems. So I'm thinking parts vehicle for my 98 Disco I. I'm assuming most of these parts are interchangeable? I was going to pull the front bumper and send to a machine shop and have a custom bumper made with push bar and lights. Custom bumpers are pricey I can get this done for around $100.

I'm getting ready to install larger tires and the Disco II bumper looks like less trimming will be necessary as well. Agree, disagree?

Also was thinking of using the fender flares and maybe swap the interior.

I really like this Disco II's body: black w blacked out glass, but the best thing going on my Disco I is the engine so I'm going to stick with it and starts some original mods with ideas I've gotten on here.

 

When you build the 4.6 pin the cylinder liners
Also some were supposed to recall due to oil pump?

Doors can fit, flares need modding d2 much bigger wheel well

Front clip may mostly work

Rims and rears not the same

Can make front seats fit, not sure row 2 seats will 3 rd row no go

There may be other bits

 

Here it is. I'm not sure if I should just buy this or get some parts. Don't know how much yet but I'm thinking less than 1k.

 

Buy it for less than 1k and part it out.

The headlights are worth at least 150 a piece on the worst day.
