Angry New seal for both sliding sunroofs

Hello,

Both old ceils got after 26 years very “flat” : normally the closing roof light squeezes the round ceal in some way more flat, allowing no gap more between the ceal and the glass.

I got one new seal (to test) from E-bay, and now the first important problems are rising ?

1) with the side from the new seal for the rabbet (thus downward) the seal had a sloped side and at the other side from te rabbet an upright side. So, witch of both is turned to the opening in the roof, and which is pointing to the roof ?
2) Till now I didn’t succeed to get the underside from the seal to get in te rabbet (the rabbet seems to small ?, or the seal is tho thick ?
3) when trying to get the seal in the rabbet from the last rounded corner, the whole seal pops out from the rabbet at an opposite rounder corner.

So, which advise (or tricks) can you give me to ease getting the new seal in the rabbet without constantly

New seal with opstanding one side to the keft

New seal with sloped other side to the right

26 year old flattened seal (with sloped side to the roof) But is this the correct position ?
popping out ?

Thanks,
PierroDisco from Belgium

Sounds like another reason to buy Genuine Rover parts. Ebay is good for some items, not for others (depending on how carefully the copies were copied).

I used caulk to seal mine up. No water for three winters now. Pouring down rain all day today. Fringe benefit was most of the highway whistling stopped too.
